Campaign principles
DON’T PUMP IT is a peaceful consumer campaign. Its purpose is to demonstrate, through a coordinated purchasing choice, that people are tired of relentless fuel prices and the wider cost-of-living pressure they create.
What participation means
On Friday, 30 October 2026, participants who can safely do so will avoid buying petrol, diesel or other road fuel for one day, observed in their own local time. People who cannot avoid buying fuel can participate by sharing the campaign.
What it never means
- No harassment, threats or abuse.
- No blocking roads, driveways, depots or service stations.
- No mistreatment of service-station staff or drivers.
- No damage, trespass or other unlawful activity.
- No panic buying before the event.
Safety, essential travel, work and caring responsibilities come first.
